Dear Diary,
I have been attending something called “Obedience Class.” There are lots of dogs and lots of people and LOTS OF TREATS!
We go into a big pen and then all the dogs and all the people do whatever the man in the middle says to do. “Sit.” “Down.” “Stay.” “Walk.” And every time I do these things I GET A TREAT!! It is very exciting.
We go to “Obedience Class” every week. And my brother doesn’t get to come. We have “homework.” The man in the middle says we have to practice every day. Sometimes my brother gets to practice with me.
This week I saw another class JUST LIKE OURS. It was in another pen right next to ours and there were dogs and people JUST LIKE OURS. I tried to go under the fence to see the other class. Mom said, “No. Stay here.” She said the class was “IN A MIRROR.” (I don’t know what that is.) Maybe next week I can go visit that class.
Until next time.
Love,
Arya
I love reading Jack and Arya’s diaries and seeing all of the photos and hearing what “they” have to say! My, you have such talented doggies!!! –Sharon Webb
Thank you, Sharon. They like sharing their perspectives!! Love to you!!
I have always wondered about this. If dogs can smell so well, why do they think it’s another dog in the mirror? Though to be fair, I can see pretty well and know all my colors yet when I look in a mirror I could swear my hair is blonde. It’s not.
Hahaha!!! That is a great question!!!
PS – she had her first recall moment. We put her on the long lead. I walked away, turned around, and called her. She didn’t know what to do. She just stood there and looked confused. Guess we need to practice that.
You are such a good doggie-person. You fully understand the impact of LOTS OF TREATS!!! (and much more). Jack and Arya are lucky puppies. Thanks for sharing their viewpoints with us.
Thank you! Head hugs from both pups.
π π π praps some day Arya will figure out a way to visit that other class; she is exceptionally clever, after all.
She is quite the clever puppy. I be she will make it through the fence … some day.
