I Think I Am Scottish

I think I am Scottish. My brave ancestors roamed the highlands searching out children stranded in the peat bogs or lost in the fog. My piercing bark led the Highland Rescue squad to my location.

My ancestors chased vermin out of the houses and even led St. Patrick to dens of snakes. (Though we did not enter the dens. That would have been too scary.)

Where do you think I come from? Share your guesses and your favorite charity for pups. Mr. P. Nut Squirrel will give a donation to your charity if you are the closest to guessing my lineage.

I think you are awesome.

Love, Arya

Love the wee bonnet – and the Big, Watchful Eyes!

Arya, you are a precious member of your family, whatever your roots.

    Be there Irish Terriers, hmmm?

  2. Arya, you come from a very prestigious heritage. Your breed is “Rescue,” and it can be found all over the world. So if you wish to claim a Scottish heritage, go right ahead, for no doubt some of your long-ago ancestors were there, too. My favorite charity for pups — for all animals, really — is Best Friends.

  3. I’m pretty sure she is a Dingo straight from Aussie land. I used to think she was part Basenji, but if so I can’t imagine what part. Basenji’s are famous for not barking. According to the petition I just received from my neighbors, Arya barks a lot.

I really think she is just the quintessential dog. Michael Fox DVM talks about this in his book Inhumane Society https://www.amazon.com/Inhumane-Society-American-Exploiting-Animals/dp/0312078080/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1472227171&sr=1-1&keywords=inhumane+society

He explains that you can go all over the world to shelters and see dogs that look pretty close to what a dog is supposed to look like. Arya fit that description perfectly.
